Eat: about 7:15pm (or when almost everyone is there)
Contact the Shire of Narrental or Shire of Steren Codha if interested in being a performer during the meal.
Pitch-in dinner (in garb) with each shire providing the main meats (a ham and a turkey)
Shire After 4th of July BBQ
This is usually held the Saturday AFTER the 4th of July holiday… date yet to be established for 2020.
It is a pitch-in at Meisterin Katarina’s back yard, but the grill is provided for all.
Mundane attire is the norm. We start gathering around 6pm to eat (earlier if you want more socializing).
Shire Birthday & 12th Night Celebration
The Shire’s Birthday (#28) celebration
(Wow, can it really be that long ago when we started??… Yup, 1992!!)
will be held January 3, 2019 (usually the first Friday of the new year) — starting about 6:30pm.
We meet at Jan/Baroness Elayne’s house… BYO snacks and drinks. Mundane attire is the norm.
Wabash HerbFest Demo
August 17, 2020
9am to 3pm (set up at 7:30am)
Paradise Springs Historical Park, Wabash, IN
This is a mundane HerbFest, but this will be our 5th time attending.
We have a booth there displaying Medieval cooking utensils, sample cookbooks,
and some herbs commonly used in the Middle Ages to display. We have a little cookbook
of our own to sell (which has done well in the past), selected herbs/spices, and some
pottery/ceramic items. We can have a fighting demo if we have enough
fighters to pull it off — heavy or light weapons.
Dual-Shire Cooking Sunday

This is an afternoon of experimenting with recipes, either mundane or period.
Bring a recipe and fixings (we usually have sufficient pots & pans)
for something you would like to try to make.
Dual-Shire Sewing Sunday

This is an afternoon of either learning to sew or sewing SCA garb with friends.
There are 2 sewing machines available, and room to accomodate more if needed.
Bring your fabric & pattern (or use some of Katarina Helene’s offerings)
Regular Shire Happenings
Business Meetings
The business meetings are at 6:30 p.m. on the first Wednesday of the month at the Logansport Public Library. Official Shire business is usually conducted in the first half or so of the meeting, which includes any event announcements to be made, ideas to be exchanged, and fun to be had! The second half of the meeting is usually more free-spirited and less structured.
A & S Meetings
The A&S sessions are held on the third Wednesday of each month at the Peru Public Library, starting at 6pm, unless specifically changed . The topics have yet to be determined for the coming months… so, we are open to any suggestions!!! In the past we’ve had such interesting classes as: bowstring making, naalbinding, fingerlace, leather headbands, etc. Anyone interested in teaching something should contact the Shire’s MoAS, THL Arianwen o Windham (contact her by clicking on her e-mail on the Officers page)
Sewing/Research (separate from the Dual Shire Sunday Sewing event)
You can do sewing and/or researching on just about any subject on any Tuesday night from 7 p.m. at Meisterin Katarina’s house, Einhorn Manor — this includes learning how to sew, if needed. But, please either call (765-472-7217… leave a voicemail if I don’t answer, please) or e-mail ahead of time, to see if there are any schedule changes.
Bookbinding
Bookbinding and/or illumination instruction and research is offered every other Sunday afternoon as needed from 2 to 4pm at Meisterin Katarina’s house, Einhorn Manor.
